Metropolitan Manila Development Authority - TTMO!

You've got to hand it to the MMDA! Bravo! At least we have something to muse and to talk about during traffic. ^_^  Passing by Commonwealth Ave., on our way home, to our amusement, we saw a group of MMDA traffic enforcers with their new name tag on their blue uniform. On their right chest bears their name, but on the opposite states TTMO. So, my dad automatically uttered: "Oi oh! Tignan niyo yung name tag ng MMDA! TTMO!" (Hey, look at the name tag of the MMDA, TTMO!)  then we laughed! ^_^

Now, to my foreign readers, T-T-MO, when Filipinos read it, means:

"Your Penis"  

^_^ YEAHBOY! ^_^

Anyway, so I thought, "Huh? Why would they use the kind of acronym or initialism?" "Didn't they notice?"

Upon  research, I saw that a lot of people, like me, noticed and found it funny or ridiculous and others dismayed.

Anyway, I found out from their website, that TTMO stands for; and to quote:

"The Traffic and Transport Management Office (TTMO) is one of the frontline offices of MMDA and is in charge of setting policies concerning traffic in Metro Manila. It is also responsible in coordinating and regulating the implementation of all programs and projects concerning traffic management specifically those that pertains to enforcement, engineering and education."

So, why not make it TATMO, instead? ^_^ hihihi! Oh well, what's done is done. So long as they do their jobs properly and continue to support the well being of everyone--then TTMO is fine with me. ^_^
